Day01 Arrival in Chengdu Arrival in Chengdu, capital of province Sichuan, the home town of Panda. Picked up by the local guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at 4*Holiday Inn Express Wuhou Day02 Chengdu – Kangding BLD Leave in the morning for Kangding. En route at Yaan, the famous rainy city, we will visit the Giant Panda Breeding Centre and Reserch Institute, the home of many giant pandas moved from Wolong Preserve after the 2008 May Earthquake hit. In addition, we will make a short visit to Shangli ancient town in an extremely serene and beautiful surroundings. In the mid afternoon we will drive cross the Tunnel of Erlang Mountain, the mountain was traditionally the natural limits of Han Chinese villages and the Tibetan communities. Arrival in Kangding, the capital of Ganzi Zang (Tibetan) Autonomous Prefecture and an important juncture of Tibetan and Han People in history. Overnight at 3*Kalakal Hotel Day03 Kangding – Laoyulin – Gesar Meadow, trekking begins BLD Drive to Laoyulin and meet the trek crew. After a simple picnic lunch we start the trekking. The trek today is getting earlier after the first two days warm up and acclimatization. We will walk through nomad’s big camps and watch out carefully their big dogs sitting by their black yak-hair made tents. Today’s trek is 5hrs for 10km. Campsite at Yulongxi near a stream at 3300m altitude. Camping Day06 Trekking to Moxigou BLD 12km and 5.5 hrs trekking today. Going up the hill (4670 m) again after breakfast. The landscape is amazing on our way up which put us in a very good mood. When trekking down, we can feel the altitude decrease very quickly. Reach our camp and spare time by the tents. Camping at Moxigou (2900m) Day07 Trekking to Gongga Monastery BLD A highlight of the trek today. We will trek to Gongga Monastery, the nearest camp to the main peak of Mt.Gongga. After a 5hrs trek for a 10km mileage and the crossing of a bush forest covered by thick fallen leaves and flower petals, we reach our camp by the monastery. Photo tour around the camp. Camping Campsite: 3700m Day08 Trekking to Zimei Village BLD Walk up in the early morning to admire the splendid sunrise and mists embracing the waist of Mount Gongga. In the afternoon, we start a easy trek for 5km and cross a cantilever bridge to Zimei, a small Tibetan village in the heart land of Gongga Mountain.
