In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founded in 1985, today there are over 50 giant pandas living there.
Then move to the Museum of Sichuan Cuisine in Pixian County. With concrete exhibits and interactive activities, the museum offers you A to Z knowledge of everything you want to know about Sichuan style food. You can also learn how to cook the Sichuan dishes here. The Museum is also a beautiful garden. In the garden you will explore the vegetables in the field and chickens in the fence, and the most interesting is that you will see the manufacture of the Pixain Douban.
Afterwards drive to Dujiangyan to visit the Irrigation System, which was built around 250 BC by Li Bin, a governor of the Shu Prefecture in Qin State. The great project still works well today after more than two thousand years in activity, which not only puts into an end the water disasters but also makes Chengdu Plain “the land of abundance”. While visiting the water conservation work, you may find that the methods of harnessing the river the ancient people used are so simple but efficient. In 2000, Dujiangyan became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Late in the afternoon drive back to Chengdu.
