Day01 Arrival in Chengdu
Arrival in Chengdu, capital of province Sichuan, the home town of Panda. Picked up by the local guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at 4*Holiday Inn Express Wuhou Day02 Chengdu - Huanglongxi ancient town-Chengdu BLD
In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founded in 1985, today there are over 50 giant pandas living there. Then drive to visit the Huanglongxi Old Town. Located at 50 kilometers from Chengdu, It is a popular scenic spot in recent years with deep tradition on construction style of West Sichuan. Drive to Longquanyi District to visit Luodai Ancient Town, which is about 18km from downtown. As more than 85% of the population of the town is Hakkas, the town is the typical representative of Hakka community in Sichuan Province. Full day guided tour in Langzhong. Visit of the ancient Gongyuan (the local examination court in Imperial China era), the Temple of Zhangfei, that was dedicated to Gen. Zhang Fei, a famous warrior in the Chinse Eastern Han Dynasty. Afterwards we will visit the Hua Guan Lou ancient pavilion, the most famous wooden structure building in Langzhong nestled by the Jialing River facing the ancient Nanjin Guan Pier. Leave in the morning for Guangyuan. The visits in and around Guangyuan include the ancient carvings of Buddhist figures and stories on the Thousand-Buddha-Cliff, 5 kilometre north of downtown Guangyuan on the east bank of Jialing River. The Thousand-Buddha-Cliff, with over 7,000 different size carvings, is claimed to be the largest grotto cluster in Sichuan Province. Drive to tour Huangze Temple, the memorial shrine to Wu Zhetian, the first and unique female who ascended to the throne in the imperial dynasties. After the visit we will take an excursion on the ancient plank roads that meanderingly hung on the cliffs above the Jialing River. After breakfast, drive to Jiange and visit of Jianmen Shu Dao (Ancient Jianmen Shu Road), which used to be the main pass linking Central China and the Southwestern areas. In addition, we will visit the Jianmen Pass, the most well known pass on the ancient road to Sichuan due to its strategic location and military importance. After the tour to the Jianmen Pass, drive to visit Zhaohua Ancient City, the most well preserved ancient town dating back to the Three Kingdom Period. We will end our today’s tour at the Grand Temple on Mount Qiqu with dense green woods surrounding. Overnight at Mt. Qiqu Hotel Day07 Zitong – Santai – Chengdu BLD
Drive back to Chengdu. On the way, visit of Qi Jiang Old Town and the ancient stone city on the Yunding Hill in Jintang County. The ancient stone city in Yuding is defacto a fortress with military purpose for the Southern Song Dynasty to protect itself against the Mongolian troops in the 13th century.
