Day01 Arrive in Beijing L Arrival in Beijing, capital of China. Picked up by your guide at the airport and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon visit the Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan), which was built in 1420 of the Ming Dynasty and expanded during the Qing Dynasty. Nowadays, it covers an area of 273 hectares. The grand temple was used as a sacrificial place for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasty to worship the heaven, presenting gratitude for the harvest of this year and praying for another good harvest next year. In the afternoon, stroll about Tian An Men Square, which is probably the biggest one of its kind in the world. Then go to visit the Forbidden City (Gu Gong) the emperor's palace, which was built between 1406 and 1420 with 9000 halls and rooms, containing many precious relics. Facing south and rising from a terrace, the largest palace in the world represents the supreme power and authority emperors enjoyed during the feudalistic dynasties, and exemplifies the elements of palace architecture. At last, we will go to Jinshan Park to have an amazing panoramic view on the Forbidden City (Gu Gong). The Great Wall is one of the eight ancient wonders of the world and the only man-made construction on earth that the astronauts can see from the moon. Starting out in the east on the banks of Yalu River in Liaoning Province, the Wall stretches westwards for 12,700 kilometers to Jiayuguan in the Gobi Desert. Picked up and transfer to visit the Museum of Terracotta Warriors. An inside museum has been built over these pits, covering a floor space of 20,000 square meters and displaying 8,000 life-size terracotta warriors, 100 or so chariots, and 30,000 weapons-an assemblage famed as the Eighth World Wonder and a world cultural heritage site. Besides, visit of Da Yan Ta (Big-Wild-Goose Pagoda), which was completed in 652. Overnight at 4*New World Hotel Day05 Air Xi’an – Jiuzhaigou BL In the morning visit the old city area and its neighborhood, the Grand Mosque. Then visit of the ancient city wall. The Xian City Wall is the best preserved, oldest and largest ancient city defense system in China. In the morning transfer to the airport and fly to Jiuzhaigou. (Nine-villages Valley), which is listed as a World Natural Heritage and reputed as a “fairyland” with its fantastic natural view. It is named after the nine Tibetan villages in the scenic area. Overnight at 4*Gesang Hotel Day06 Jiuzhaigou BLD Walking and sightseeing the whole day in the three valleys of Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley). As the water, the “soul of Jiuzhaigou”, is pure and crystal-like and rich in colors, there is an adage saying that no water is worth your attention after your visit to Jiuzhaigou. Overnight at 5*Sheraton Jiuzhaigou Resort Day07 Jiuzhaigou – Huanglong - Chengdu BL In the morning drive to visit the Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Scenic Spot which is listed as a World Natural Heritage. Huanglong is marked by its low-temperature and highly calcified Karst landform, which forms numerous valuable colored ponds. In the afternoon transfer to the airport, fly to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, the home town of Panda. Picked up by the local guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at 4*Holiday Inn Express Wuhou Day08 Chengdu – Leshan – Emei Shan BLD In the morning leave for Leshan. On the way enjoy the beautiful countryside landscape of western Chengdu Plains during about two hours of driving on the expressway. Upon arrival in Leshan visit of the Grand Buddha in Lingyun Temple. The grand Buddha was completed in 803 of Tang Dynasty after 90 years of construction. Enjoy the fame of the biggest sitting stone sculpture in the world (71-meter height). Carved on the cliff face, the sculpture is well designed with perfect balance and effective water drainage system. After the visit of Lingyun Temple and the Grand Buddha, boating on the Minjiang River to see the front site of the Grand Buddha and the "hidden sleeping Buddha". Afterwards head for Mt. Emei, the main ritual place of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (Puxian Pusa) and one of the four most celebrated Buddhist mountains in China. Visit of Baoguo Si at the foot of Mt. Emei, the biggest temple in Emei Shan. Overnight at 4*Emeishan Grand Hotel Day09 Emei Shan – Chengdu BL Early in the morning we take the sightseeing bus to the Leidongping Bus Station along the 52-kilometer zigzag mountain road. Upon arrival, we take the cable car to the Golden Summit. With an altitude of 3099 meters, if the weather is fine, the view is amazing; the verdant forest waves surge along the mountain; Min River, Qingyi River and Dadu River are like three pieces of silk; Mt. Daxue and Mt. Gongga seem to stretch to the horizon; the sun emerges with all shimmering rays through the surging clouds. If you are lucky enough, the Buddhist light is visible. After the visit of Huazang Si Temple and the golden statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (Puxian Pusa), we take the cable car and the sightseeing bus down to the foot of Mt. Emei Shan, drive back to Chengdu. Overnight at 4*Holiday Inn Express Wuhou Day10 Air Chengdu – Lijiang BL In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founded in 1985, today there are over 50 giant pandas living there. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a walk at the Broad and Narrow Lanes (Kuan Xiangzi and Zhai Xiangzi). It consists in 3 alleys: Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley. Experience the typical lifestyle of the old Chengdu. In the afternoon transfer to the airport, fly to Lijiang (2600 m), the hometown of Naxi Minority. Overnight at 4*Ancient Town Castle Hotel Day11 Lijiang BL The Lijiang Old Town is famous for its old wooden houses and the layout of the town’s streets. It has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Stroll through the old town Lijiang. Then visit of Hei Long Tan (Black Dragon Pool), which is located in the northern foot of the Elephant Hill. The summits of the Yulong Snow Mountain are clearly reflected in this pond. Afterwards visit of Dongba (local primitive religion of Naxi Minority) Culture Museum. At last visit Baisha village of Naxi minority where about 350 Buddhist mural paintings made between 14th and 17th century are preserved. Overnight at 4*Ancient Town Castle Hotel Day12 Air Lijiang – Kunming BL In the morning transfer to the airport, fly to Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, also called “Spring City” due to its fine climate all year round. Yunnan in Chinese means "at the south of the clouds". Upon arrival in Kunming, drive to Shilin, a county of the Sani minority, to visit the Stone Forest. The bizarre karst stone rocks feature in various formation and some of them tower above to 30 m high. Drive back to Kunming. Overnight at 4*Jinjiang Hotel Day13 Air Kunming – Shanghai BL In the morning transfer to the airport, fly to Shanghai, China’s largest booming city. Transfer to the Hotel. In the afternoon visit of Yu Yuan (Yu-Garden) and the old city area. Originally built in 1559, it served as the private garden of high-ranking official by then. The word “Yu” contains a meaning of “safe and peaceful”. Then visit of Waitan (Bund). As one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai, the Bund site shows a portion of the historic center of the foreign presence in Shanghai and its transformation in recent times.
