In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founded in 1985, today there are over 50 giant pandas living there. We leave Chengdu for Tangjiahe today. En route visit of Sanxingdui Museum. This site is recognized as one of the most important ancient remains in the world for its vast size, lengthy period and enriched cultural contents. The unique Sanxingdui Museum is a good place to explore the mysterious ancient Shu culture and history. In the afternoon drive to Tangjiahe National Natural Reserve, located in the hilly county of Qingchuan, Sichuan Province. After arriving, visit the Natural Museum. The collections of the museum includes hundreds of specimens of rare plant and animal, which help people have an overall and intuitive grasp of the flora and fauna of Minshan Mountain range. Afterwards drive to Xiangfei forest. First we follow a trail around the mountain and then roam among the Monkey Valley in search for macaque and stump-tailed macaque. Founded in 1978 and approved as a national reserve by the State Council of China in 1986, with an area of 40,000 hectares, the Sichuan Tangjiahe Natural Reserve is purposed to protect the rare giant panda and its fragile habitat and other flora and fauna in the area. In the morning visit the Takin Discovery Center and Snake Island. In the afternoon stay at Caijiaba Surveillance Station to watch animals including takin for a chance. After the self-service barbecue, continue observing or walking about in search of takin, tufted deer, muntjac, Golden pheasant, etc. In the evening transfer to hotel. Overnight at 4*Tangjiahe Hotel Day05 Tangjiahe Natural Reserve BLD Leave hotel at 07:00 am with meal box. Walk to Red-Stone River. En route look for and observe birds of Chinese Monal Pheasant, blood pheasant, Chinese Hazel Grouse, and golden pheasant ect., as well as animal like takin. Have lunch at Bai Xiong Ping (White Bear Ground). In the afternoon walk back to hotel. Today’s trekking involves you in a round trip of about 30 kms. Drive to Xian (176 kilometers, 3 hours and 19 minutes), the capital city of the Shaaxi province. Visit the Museum of Terracotta Warriors. An inside museum has been built over these pits, covering a floor space of 20,000 square meters and displaying 8,000 life-size terracotta warriors, 100 or so chariots, and 30,000 weapons-an assemblage famed as the Eighth World Wonder and a world cultural heritage site.
