The Anshunchang Ferry Anshunchang, an old name Zidadi, is a strategic place in Shimian County with the wroth wavy Dadu River beating against the shore spectacularly. In the second year of the Tongzhi’s reign of Qing Dynasty, Shi Dakai, the Wing King (Yiwang) of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, encountered the whole forces vanquished here. In the May of 1935, the Chinese Red Army successfully crossed the Dadu River during the Long March and Anshunchang, as a result, was recorded to the history of Chinese Revolution and ranked into the Key Cultural Relic under Province-level Protection. There are memorials and monuments about the Chinese Red Army crossing the River at the Ferry Site. |
