Jiangkou Cliff Tomb Jiangkou Cliff Tomb is the key national relics protection unit, which is situated in Jiangkou area at the eastern bank of Yanjiang River in Pengshan County. 4,580 cliff tombs in Han Dynasty are distributed within a length of 10 km and a width of 2 km. There are ship-shaped chamber tombs, vertical shaft-shaped horizontal tombs, rock and brick combined chamber tombs, courtyard-shaped tombs, child-mother chamber tombs and non-conventional type tombs, etc.. There are a great number of stone sculptures at tomb forehead, doorhead, main column, interior and exterior walls, etc. The carving skill is splendid. The contents and subjects are diverse, of which the pictures of kitchens, sexual life, etc. are rare in stone carvings of Han Dynasty. Jiangkou Cliff Tomb is the key distribution region of cliff tombs of Han dynasty in Sichuan Province. |
