Situated in the place 10,000 meters away from the ancient road between Tuxi Village and the Yanfeng Village in the north of the Quxian County, the famous Han Watch Towers Scenic Spot has won particular renown for the Feng Huan Watch Tower and ShenFujun Watch Tower which were first approved to be the Key Cultural Relic under State-level Protection by the State Council in March, 1961. There are also other four watch towers in Wangjiaping listed under Province-level Protection.
The Han Watch Towers in Quxian County all consist of three parts, the base, the body and the top. Except the untitled watch tower in Pujiawan is piled by two stones, the bodies of other watch towers are all carved out in a whole stone. The whole architecture is imposing with biomimetic wooden structure and is adorned by many vivid carvings, each of which embodies the basic tone of watch tower while has its own characteristics.
Han Watch Towers in Quxian County is a valuable treasure among the splendid cultural heritage in China, which accounts 1/4 of the extant 29 Han Watch Towers in China. Therefore, it enjoys world-wide reputation as “the Town of Han Watch Towers”.
