Memorial of the Headquarter Site of the No. 4 Red Army The Headquarters Site of the No. 4 Red Army can be traced back to the Agrarian Revolutionary War, and was approved by the Chinese Government as a National Key Protection Cultural Relic and the Base for Education of Patriotism. It is located in the Wen Temple in Nuojiang Town of Tongjiang County, which was initially built in late Ming Dynasty with an area of 1200㎡. The Lingxing Gate, the Wing-rooms and Qisheng Hall still exist. During 1932-1935, the NO.4 Red Army set their headquarters in this temple. Commander in Chief Xu Xiangqian used to live and work here, giving out orders to direct the military fights in Chuanshan Revolutionary Base. The site was built into a showroom in 1982, exhibiting several thousands of cultural relics. Many leaders of China have written inscriptions for it and in 1993 it was renamed into the Memorial of the Headquarters Site of the No. 4 Red Army |
