Li Bai's Memorial Located by the Changming River in the north suburb of Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province, it was initially built in 1962 to commemorate the 1200 anniversary of Li Bai' death and it is a provincial-level Scenic Area. Covering an area of about 3 hectares, it is surrounded by water in 3 sides and covered by lush trees and consists of Taibai Hall, Tai Bai Study, Xiaoyan Study, Guilai Hall, Huaixie Pavilion and Linjiangxian Hall. The gardening combines the advantages of different genres and creates its own style. The winding corridors, platforms, brooks and the plants create a simple and graceful atmosphere. Libai's Memorial collects large number of antiques about Li Bai, such as the precious hand-writing, Song Stele, The statue of Li Bai, Li Bai's Portrait, and calligraphic carvings. And there are also cultural relics such as the Peach Pond, Pen-washing Pond, Grand Stone Lion, and Leiming Weir of Ming Dynasty. The collections are up to 5,000 pieces including Li Bai's poetry anthologies printed in different dynasties and other literati's classics such as the Qiuying, Zhu Yongming, Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, etc. The Taibai Park is on the opposite side of the river where towers and pavilions are finely arranged and trees are growing prosperously. |
