The Ancient Capital of Qi Kingdom- The Yuntai Scenic Area Located in the Anju Town of the west of Santai County, the Yuantai Scenic Area is a Provincial-level Scenic Area. It consists of Qiwang City, Graves on Cliff, Yuntai Temple and other sightseeing spots. The ancient Capital city was the capital of Qi Kingdom in Spring & Autumn Period. It borders the Qijiang River on the right and Mianshui River on the left and the two rivers join each other at the southeast of the city. The Jiulong-jiudun (Nine-dragon& Nine-pier) Bridge flies over the Qijiang River. The Gulou Mountain stands on the east and the Tiantai Mountain on the west like two huge dragons protecting the city. In the south of the ancient city and by the river side, there are two Lion Mountains stand opposite to the Jinzhong Mountain which is behind the city. Graves on Cliff are located in Qijiang Town, Santai County, near the ancient capital city and were proved to be the Key Cultural Relics under State-level Protection. Thousands of graves of Han Dynasty were caved in the crevice of the precipitous cliff by the riversides, arranged layer upon layer like the honeycomb. It was considered to be the Town of Han Graves. |
