| Stele Forest Recording Earthquake of Xichang - Xichang is the only place that uses steles to record the local earthquake condition. There are over 60 pieces of steles, on which some gigantic earthquake conditions in Xichuang, Mianning, Ganluo, etc. were engraved. Especially, the stele forest had recorded specific data about 3 gigantic earthquakes in Xichang, including the time, the hypocenter area and aftershock area, casualties of both man and livestock, and damage of buildings, in the 15th year of Jiajing era (1536 A.D.) of Ming dynasty, the 10th year of Yongzheng era (1732 A.D.) of Qing dynasty, and the 30th year of Daoguang era (1850 AD). |
