It’s a provincial scenic zone in the Xuyong County and covers an area of over 200 km2..The major peak is 1,619 m above sea level. The landscape has a magnificent Danxia Landform and precipitous cliff, Taoist Temple of Suishan School of Quanzhen Sect since Song Dynasty as well as relics of totem of ancient nationalities living in South Sichuan. On the mountain there is thick vegetation and upright ancient trees. Streams are murmuring and waterfalls rushing down. Moreover, there are a range of beautiful natural landscapes such as sea of clouds, floating light, sunrise, colorful clouds at dusk and rime. Its natural scenic sites include Dunzi River, Suoleng Trough, Tiansheng Bridge, Longquan Cavern and Qingliang Cavern； historic sites include Yuhuang Taoist Temple, Chunqiu Temple, Moyan Stone Carving, ancient tombs, memorial archway and ancient road. It’s a wonderful summer resort of South Sichuan. Mt. Dan is 114 km. away from Luzhou City and 16 km. away from Xuyong County.
